Mindscapes NYC Launch Convening

Working closely with Wellcome’s international cultural partnerships and mental health priority area teams, in December 2020 I organized a virtual convening to collectively determine the most effective and meaningful ways to address mental health in New York — setting a course for Mindscapes New York.

Hosted by the Center for the Humanities at The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY), a group of 45 people, including cultural institutions, artists, designers, researchers, foundations and Wellcome staff gathered for a series of meetings to determine the goals of Mindscapes for local NYC partners. Following on from this convening and the key themes that emerged, Mindscapes NYC project partners created a local working group and moved into the development and production phases of cultural programming.
